Job Overview

APTIM is seeking an Environmental Scientist (hydrogeologist, geologist or environmental scientist) to assist the retail petroleum new-store construction team. This role involves both field and office work on small to large scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Office work: permitting, project preparation, and report writing across multiple states.
  • Prepare Best Management Practices and application submittals for dewatering permits.
  • Perform Phase I/II environmental assessments and oversee subcontractors.
  • Write detailed reports including text, tables, and figures for clients and regulators.
  • Assist Project Managers with tasks such as Purchase Orders, scheduling, and tracking deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively while taking ownership of individual projects.
  • Apply best practices to improve products or services within the discipline.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology/Environmental Science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in petroleum cleanup and Florida environmental regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various conditions for extended hours.
  • Valid Driver's License and OSHA 40 Hr HAZWOPER certification.
