Job Description

About the Role of Video Integration Engineer

Apple transforms new ideas into extraordinary products and experiences. As a Video Integration Engineer, you will serve as a crucial liaison between design and engineering teams. Your primary responsibilities will include editing and updating metadata, along with integrating content for multiple software releases across Apple's consumer video products.

Our compact, collaborative team is dedicated to creating industry-leading creative applications that empower creators in photography, video, music, and design. We operate cross-functionally across various lines of business, tackling complex technical challenges while maintaining an unwavering commitment to detail.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between design vision and technical implementation. This involves translating creative designs into production-ready assets, fostering collaboration with both design and engineering teams, and offering technical expertise across our diverse product suite. If you are a versatile problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes immense pride in craftsmanship, you will directly influence products utilized by millions of creators globally.

Key Responsibilities

As a Video Integration Engineer, you will support the creation, optimization, and refinement of content across Apple's creative product suite. Your responsibilities will encompass content development, technical problem-solving, and extensive cross-functional collaboration:

  • Support the seamless addition of new content into applications and update existing content to align with evolving product requirements across multiple creative tools and lines of business.
  • Translate intricate design specifications into technical assets and production-ready content, working in close partnership with design and engineering teams to ensure flawless implementation.
  • Test new and experimental tools and processes, meticulously identify bugs within content, and troubleshoot issues with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Actively explore emerging technologies to discover innovative ways to enhance existing content or develop entirely new, groundbreaking solutions.
  • Design, implement, and iterate on prototypes collaboratively with cross-functional team members.
  • Manage metadata, file formats, image and video compression, graphics sizing, and color correction across all deliverables.
  • Provide essential technical support and expertise to team members across various lines of business regarding production challenges, optimization strategies, and best practices.
  • Document all processes and workflows thoroughly to ensure consistency and facilitate efficient team knowledge-sharing.
  • Test and validate all work rigorously to ensure it adheres to user interaction guidelines and performs optimally across a wide range of devices and platforms.
  • Work onsite as an integral part of a collaborative, high-performing team.

On our small team, you will wear multiple hats, including significant production responsibilities. You will obsess over every detail—ensuring that every asset is properly formatted, color profiles are consistent, and pixels are precisely placed. You will adeptly navigate competing priorities, adapt quickly to changing requirements, and maintain composure under tight deadline pressure. Clear cross-disciplinary communication and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are absolutely essential for success in this role.
