Description

The ideal candidate is a proactive, technically proficient design systems expert with refined eye for detail and experience building scalable frameworks. Partnering cross-functionally with Design, Engineering, and QA, you will identify emerging patterns, formalize them, and translate design intent into precise, engineering-ready materials.

This is an execution-heavy role focused on bringing designs to life by crafting detailed deliverables for Engineering, including technical specifications and assets. You will steward documentation, maintain scalable component libraries, and uphold system-consistent UI with rigor and discernment. Keen attention to detail and effective organizational skills are a must, as well as the ability to navigate rapid change and ambiguity.

You are a clear, direct communicator who proactively flags visual inconsistencies and drives alignment around established patterns and guidelines. You can produce deliverables under tight deadlines and are a self-motivated and adaptable team player. You apply accessibility requirements with precision and care, ensuring every spec supports inclusive experiences for people of all abilities. Above all, you embody Apple’s high standards for design, usability, and craftsmanship, elevating the overall experience of our products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience with a focus on design systems and UI across a variety of platforms like iOS, macOS, web, and others.
  • Deep knowledge of design system architecture, tokens, component rules, and system governance.
  • Proven ability producing detailed redlines for engineering.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively across designers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners.
  • High degree of proficiency with Apple operating systems and design tools like Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong organizational skills combined with a proven ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced design studio.
  • Creative thinker, fast learner, and innovative problem solver.
  • Dedication to user-focused, inclusive, and accessible design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable with Apple productivity and creativity apps including Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Freeform, Pixelmator, Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Logic Pro.
  • High-level Sketch skills, including experience creating component libraries, symbol architecture, and precision layouts.
  • Desire to keep up with emerging technology, including advancements in AI/ML and automation, coupled with a curiosity-driven, innovation-forward perspective.
  • Work samples demonstrating design thinking, hands-on expertise, and ability to produce detailed specs.
  • Degree in related field of study or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Passion for Apple, its products, and its customers.
