The Opportunity: Associate Technical Consultant Intern
Are you looking to combine your passion for technology with your penchant for strategic problem-solving? Appian's Customer Success team is obsessed with great customer outcomes. We deliver mission-critical business impact fast, and as an Associate Technical Consultant Intern, you will directly support our department in partnering with our customers to bring their best ideas to life.
You'll be embedded with a team to gain an authentic, real-world experience doing tangible and meaningful work. You'll help build and deploy web-based applications on the Appian platform, supporting our customers' business strategies under the guidance of our full-time consultants. During our 10-week, in-person program, you'll become an expert on our software and a key part of a team delivering great solutions.
This internship is based at our headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Appian was built on a culture of in-person collaboration, which we believe is a key driver of our mission to be the best. Interns in this program are expected to be in the office 5 days a week to fully experience our culture, learn directly from peers and mentors, and contribute to projects in a collaborative environment. Being in the office provides more opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate with the exceptional people across Appian.
This role may involve work within the Public Sector and requires willingness to obtain a government-sponsored clearance and uphold the responsibilities to do so.

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Need
- An aptitude for analyzing business strategies and processes to help develop technical and non-technical solutions that support them.
- A solid foundation of, or passion for, technology.
- The desire to use a design-thinking approach for prototyping and modeling business processes.
- The ability to leverage what you've learned to construct, implement, and deploy process-centric business process management solutions using the Appian platform.
- Creativity for designing supporting change management artifacts to increase adoption of new solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Economics, or an equivalent background.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL server, etc.) and cloud technologies.
