About the Role
At Appian, our core values of Respect, Work to Impact, Ambition, and Constructive Dissent & Resolution drive our culture. As the Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting Manager, you will lead the technical accounting function and secure timely SEC filings for a software industry leader.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage complex areas such as stock-based compensation, valuation, lease accounting, and sales commission accounting.
- Lead the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums and support positions during external audits.
- Compile and review financial statements, footnotes, earnings releases, and investor presentations.
- Collaborate with various department leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting and SEC compliance.
- Act as liaison with external auditors and Internal Audit on SOX compliance matters.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

Requisite Skillset and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with Big Four exposure.
- CPA license required.
- Experience in the software industry is preferred.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
