Regional Sales Manager - Apogee Architectural Metals
Apogee Architectural Metals is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales team within a key geographic territory. This role is crucial for ensuring our financial goals are met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Directly lead Independent and Direct Sales Reps, ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable laws. This includes responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, and resolving issues. Recruit, train, and motivate the sales and estimating team effectively to support company objectives. Coach, mentor, and develop the sales team to enhance their effectiveness and achieve sales targets. Manage Sales Representatives in the territory by setting expectations, measuring activities, and assessing results.
Strategic Program and Project Management: Participate in or lead process improvement initiatives. Manage business development activities for the region, identifying prospective customers, influencers, representatives, and sales channels. Develop and implement plans to increase market share, improve positioning, and boost sales and profitability. Drive the sales development process to identify ideal customers and projects, maximize resource utilization, and prioritize opportunities that align with our premium brand and products. Lead regional efforts to identify and onboard strong distribution partners to service smaller customer opportunities.
Sales: Act as the voice of the customer within the organization, providing market input to Estimating, Marketing, and Engineering teams. Serve as the primary liaison with internal partners. Actively engage with key accounts and assist Sales Representatives as needed. Assist the Sales Director as required. Understand, utilize, and ensure adherence to Salesforce for project, customer, and opportunity tracking.
Experience & Skills
Education: BA in Marketing, Business Management/Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in the commercial fenestration industry with a solid technical understanding of storefront, curtainwall, and window systems.
- Minimum 2 years of sales management or related management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in architectural promotion and training is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of construction documents, details, sketches, and design technical manuals. CDT accreditation is preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with demonstrated superior client orientation.
- Excellent analytical and strong people skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Valid driver’s license without restrictions to meet extensive travel requirements.
- Ability and willingness to lead and develop others.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Consensus builder, capable of building relationships at multiple levels.

Work Environment/Travel Requirements
This role involves extended periods of office work, including computer use and team meetings. Overnight travel is expected 50%-75% of the time, with 3-4 additional trips per year for team meetings and training.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in an office environment. May lift office supplies up to 10 pounds. May lift up to 75 pounds at job sites or mock-ups.
