About the Role: Forklift Operator
A.P. Moller - Maersk is seeking a Forklift Operator in St. Louis, MO! In this role, you will be primarily operating a sit-down forklift. Proof of a previous forklift certification is required.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Forklift Operator is in charge of loading and unloading materials utilizing various equipment such as a hand truck, reach truck, or forklift. You will maintain a clean and safe work environment and identify any discrepancies in receiving loads against the manifest.
- Utilize manifest to pull routes, stage freight, and assist Drivers with loading and unloading trucks.
- Perform material handling duties including picking, packing, scanning, kitting (as applicable), and counting products.
- Ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work is completed accurately.
- Identify and annotate overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Read and follow detailed and defined instructions efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment, adhering to all TSA and OSHA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous warehouse experience (1 year) is preferred.
- Must be proficient in using forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding/shrink wrap material.
- Experience using an RF scan gun is required.
- Previous forklift certifications are required.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed, including occasional weekends.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions thoroughly.
- Strong ability to work well with others.
- High attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work effectively with little supervision.
- Must be able to lift 50+lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
Physical Requirements
This position demands standing and walking for extended periods. Employees will frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend, and lift objects above their head. The ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted and operate pallet jacks and forklifts is required.

Pay & Hours
The anticipated starting hourly pay range for this Forklift Operator position is $20.00 - $21.00*. The Company may adjust this range based on prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The final starting salary will be determined directly with the selected candidate(s) in accordance with all applicable laws.
This role involves rotating shifts and rotating weekends:
- 1st shift: 6am to 2pm
- 2nd shift: 12:00pm to 8pm
