About The Role
As a member of the Applied AI team at Anthropic, you will be a Forward Deployed Engineer Applied AI who embeds with strategic federal civilian (and occasionally state and local) customers to drive transformational AI adoption. You will collaborate with customer teams to ship advanced AI applications that solve real world business problems and create innovative solutions built on our models.
Core Responsibilities
- Work within customer systems to build production applications with Claude models.
- Deliver technical artifacts like MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills.
- Provide white glove deployment support in federal government environments.
- Identify repeatable deployment patterns and contribute insights back to internal teams.
- Maintain knowledge of latest LLM capabilities and AI product development.
- Build long term relationships with customers and drive new AI opportunities.
- Travel frequently (25-50%) to customer sites.
- Act as a champion for Anthropic’s mission in the field.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have
- Experience working with US federal civilian, state, or local agencies.
- At least 4 years in a technical, customer facing role or relevant consulting experience.
- Production experience with LLMs including prompt engineering and agent development.
- Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python and other languages.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate across organizations.
- Experience with government IT systems and/or AI deployment patterns is a plus.
Logistics
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Hybrid Work Model: Expected at least 25% office presence; may vary.
- Visa Sponsorship: Available, subject to role and candidate eligibility.
