Uncover Hiring Manager

Job Description

About Anthropic

Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems, aiming for AI to be safe and beneficial for users and society. The team is a rapidly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About The Role

Anthropic is growing exceptionally fast, and the People Products team is crucial to supporting this mission by defining the blueprint for AI at work. This team focuses on optimizing the entire employee lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding to teamwork and promotions, ensuring manager effectiveness and successful new hire integration. As an Engineering Manager, People Products, you will work directly with Claude, leveraging unique capabilities on genuinely unsolved problems. You'll operate with high autonomy, owning decisions and shipping rapidly, moving from prototype to production in days or weeks. This role is ideal for cross-functional thinkers passionate about fixing people practices at a consequential AI company.

Responsibilities

  • Build full-stack, end-to-end solutions across the People Products portfolio.
  • Design and implement AI-native workflows, including building tools, evaluations, prompts, and products to define possibilities in applied AI for people processes.
  • Collaborate directly with internal stakeholders such as HR teams, recruiters, and managers to understand problems, gather feedback, and iterate quickly without waiting for handed-down requirements.
  • Make independent product and architecture decisions in a low-structure environment, balancing scope, shipping, and seeking input effectively.
  • Contribute ideas to team operations, development priorities, and areas where applied AI can maximize leverage in people workflows.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

  • Have 4+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performing teams in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
  • Derive joy from hard work and the act of creation, having shipped LLM-native features or applications.
  • Possess sufficient experience to build significant features independently and make sound architectural decisions.
  • Are self-sufficient end-to-end, capable of progressing from idea to production without requiring a designer, PM, or architect.
  • Move fast without sacrificing quality, maintaining high standards while making smart tradeoffs under pressure.
  • Engage directly with users and feedback, comfortable with internal customer interactions and incorporating criticism quickly.
  • Are genuinely mission-driven, caring about the intersection of AI and people practices beyond just the technical challenge.
  • Are a collaborative, supportive teammate who communicates clearly, brings others along, and improves the team around you.

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or prior experience building Claude or LLM integrations in production.
  • A background at an AI-native company or in a product-focused 0->1 engineering environment.
  • Experience with HR tech platforms such as Greenhouse, Workday, or Rippling.
