Overview
The Senior Manager Veterinary Operations at Animal Care & Control of NYC is responsible for overseeing the Veterinary Services Team. This role ensures that all shelter medical operations meet the highest standards of care and operate seamlessly across multiple care centers in Manhattan and Queens.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Animal Health, the Senior Manager Veterinary Operations oversees para-professional personnel and shelters' medical teams, ensuring proper interdepartmental collaboration and high standards of animal care. Reporting to the Director of Animal Health, this role is pivotal to integrating the Veterinary Services with broader organizational initiatives and managing daily challenges across animal care, human resources, compliance, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Maintain uniform shelter medical policies and procedures.
- Mentor and train staff to achieve peak performance.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Represent Veterinary Services in interdepartmental meetings.
- Manage budgeting, inventory, compliance, and operational flow.
- Directly supervise Veterinary Team Managers across sites.
- Perform Licensed Veterinary Technician duties as needed.
- Obtain Fear Free Certification within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician or license eligible in NY.
- 3-5 years of hospital or shelter management experience.
- Proven leadership, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
