Job Description
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for implementing comprehensive treatment programs to assist pediatric patients with physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional disabilities or delays. This role involves planning and administering occupational therapy services within the home and community environments.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-quality care by conducting patient evaluations and interpreting assessment results.
- Develops appropriate goals and implements occupational therapy treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
- Assists pediatric and young adult patients in areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development to enhance independence through skilled interventions.
- Educates, coaches, and empowers caregivers and families to integrate therapeutic activities into the child's daily routines.
- Coordinates with referral partners to deliver services in accordance with physician orders.
- Designs and instructs patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs to ensure the continuation of therapeutic plans post-discharge.
- Documents patient care services and care coordination using an electronic medical record system.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
Requirements
- Valid State Occupational Therapist license.
- Current CPR certification.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred.
