Job Summary
As an Engagement Pharmacy Technician at AnewHealth, you will be a vital part of our Patient Care Center of Excellence. This role involves working in a call center environment, engaging with patients, doctors, and facilities primarily over the phone. Your duties will be dynamic, encompassing inbound and outbound calls, navigating multiple pharmacy software systems, and supporting various stages of patient care. This position offers an opportunity to develop diverse skillsets within a fast-paced, high-energy environment focused on delivering exceptional over-the-phone patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience daily in a phone-based environment.
- Answer a high volume of inbound calls from current patients, serving as an AnewHealth expert to resolve questions.
- Place outbound calls to patients to create, maintain, or update their medication profiles.
- Effectively assist with patient questions over the phone.
- Work through current case queues to problem-solve patient care issues.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other medical professionals on patient’s behalf.
- Perform claim adjudication and auditing duties such as prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks, requiring outbound calls to patients.
- Collect on patient balances when an amount is due.
- Maintain patient records with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Utilize sound drug knowledge to effectively receive prescription authorizations, clarifications, or transfers.
- Accurately retrieve all prescription information and verify through doctor calls.
- Enter a high volume of data; process prescription information with speed and accuracy.
- Place welcome calls to newly onboarded patients and establish a trusted point of contact.
- Partner with technicians and pharmacists to ensure successful patient onboarding.
- Perform in a high volume, fast-paced environment to support AnewHealth’s nationwide patient base.
- Execute other tasks as required.
Skills & Abilities
- Comfortable working in a phone-based environment.
- Ability to work independently; self-motivated and goal-oriented.
- Exceptional customer service skills for doctors' offices, pharmacists, and patient needs.
- Thorough drug knowledge.
- Pharmacy billing knowledge.
- Knowledge of appropriate processes for taking prescriptions, clarifications, and transfers, including clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to utilize computer equipment, technology, and multiple software programs.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Passion to help people and enrich their lives; ability to overcome objections.
- Ability to think critically and document pertinent details compliantly with state and federal regulations.

Requirements
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- High school diploma / GED.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA) and maintain a current certificate.
- Must maintain a pharmacy technician registration with State Board of Pharmacy.
- Ability to perform in an office-based (or remote) setting that requires sitting at a desk 90% of the time.
- Schedule: Ability to work 4 weekdays and either Saturday or Sunday (9am to 5:30pm EST).
