Senior Controls Engineer

About the Team: The Core Automation team is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories, defining production automation on a national scale.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and manage controls systems for manufacturing from ideation to hand-off.
- Architect, write, and debug organized, maintainable PLC code on platforms like AB, Siemens, and Beckhoff.
- Establish internal standards for control systems, regulatory compliance and safety buyoffs.
- Integrate FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to ensure long-term reliability.
- Install, configure, and tune servo drives and VFDs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and reduce downtime.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; 4+ years in controls and automation in a production environment; expert in PLC programming including Ladder and Structured Text; proficient in servo drive/VFD configuration, PID tuning, and ethernet based communication protocols; experience with MES and QMS integration; must be a U.S. Person.
Preferred Qualifications: 6+ years of relevant experience; background in control panel layout, electrical component selection, cable routing; familiarity with CAD packages (Solidworks, NX, CATIA, AutoCAD) and TUV FS Engineer certification.
