About the Team
The Core Automation team at Anduril is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories. As a Staff Controls Engineer, you will help define production automation on a national scale.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and manage control systems from ideation to hand-off.
- Architect, write, and debug organized and maintainable PLC code.
- Generate and enforce internal standards for systems architectures and regulatory compliance.
- Integrate FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures.
- Install, configure, and tune servo drives and VFDs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and drive improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
- Expert in PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text) across multiple platforms.
- Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet-based communication protocols.
- Experience integrating with MES and QMS systems.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to export control requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in controls and automation.
- Experience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routing.
- Familiarity with CAD packages including Solidworks, NX, CATIA, and AutoCAD.
- TUV FS Engineer certification (Functional Safety of Machinery).
Compensation & Benefits
The US salary range for this role is estimated between $170,000 and $240,000, with highly competitive equity grants and top-tier benefits.
