About the Role: Technical Recruiting Lead

Anchorage Digital is seeking a crypto-native Technical Recruiting Lead to spearhead talent acquisition for our Protocols/Blockchain engineering teams. These pivotal teams are responsible for building the robust financial infrastructure that enables institutions to securely interact with numerous blockchain networks. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you will manage the complete recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing and screening to closing, while also serving as a mentor to other recruiters.

We evaluate candidates based on four core competencies: Technical Skills, Complexity and Impact of Work, Organizational Knowledge, and Communication and Influence. Below is a detailed breakdown of what we are seeking in each area:

Technical Skills

  • Own end-to-end recruiting for highly demanding engineering roles.
  • Execute creative sourcing strategies to attract deeply technical, hard-to-find talent in areas like distributed systems, blockchain, and cryptography.
  • Construct robust pipelines, consistently measuring metrics and reverse-engineering pipeline math to hit hiring goals.
  • Continuously iterate to improve efficiency and scale successful strategies.

Complexity and Impact of Work

  • Independently drive hiring outcomes for high-stakes roles with minimal oversight.
  • Execute full-cycle recruiting, demonstrating strong conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering managers and technical leads to calibrate on hiring bar, refine interview processes, and successfully close competitive offers.
  • Appropriately escalate issues regarding process changes, bar adjustments, and stakeholder commitments.

Organizational Knowledge

  • Work cross-functionally with engineers, engineering managers, and executives, adapting communication style to suit diverse audiences.
  • Build credibility with skeptical hiring managers through deep technical calibration.
  • Maintain a tight feedback loop with leadership on progress, blockers, and key learnings.
  • Balance rapid velocity with sound judgment on decisions that impact multiple teams.

Communication and Influence

  • Receive feedback gracefully and provide constructive input to others.
  • Adapt recruiting approaches based on stakeholder needs and hiring manager insights.
  • Mentor junior recruiters on effective pipeline strategy, technical calibration, and closing candidates under pressure.
  • Extract successful playbooks and teach others to replicate positive outcomes.

What You May Bring:

  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with significant time in crypto, fintech, or adjacent infrastructure sectors, demonstrating a strong understanding of the talent landscape and candidate motivations.
  • A proven track record of successfully hiring for deeply technical roles (e.g., blockchain, distributed systems, security) where candidates are competitive and closing goes beyond just meeting compensation expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to close competitive candidates, supported by offer acceptance rates, wins against competing offers, or detailed examples of creative closing strategies.
  • Experience effectively pitching equity to inspire candidates to invest in upside potential, rather than solely focusing on cash offers.
  • A history of mentoring other recruiters in areas such as pipeline strategy, technical calibration, and closing techniques.
  • Willingness to dive deep into tasks when stakes are high, including sourcing, screening, and closing alongside your team, while also knowing when to delegate and seek assistance.
  • Experience in an environment where success was measured by placements or hires, not arbitrary activity (e.g., agency recruiting, quota-carrying in-house roles, or sales-adjacent backgrounds).
