Technical Skills
- Expertise in Compliance-related data tables and models, including understanding data nuances, underlying codes, and model limitations, to conduct reliable and accurate data analysis independently.
- Drive the automation of key compliance processes and workflows, such as Know-Your-Customer, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity identification/reporting, using internal tools to boost efficiency.
- Experience experimenting with and deploying AI solutions, staying current with developments, and actively seeking new ways to enhance efficiency through AI tools.
Complexity and Impact of Work
- Support the development and enhancement of BSA/AML models, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, customer risk rating, and blockchain analytics.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices for the FCC Analytics team, covering code review, testing frameworks, project management, and documentation.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and quickly respond to time-sensitive data requests from auditors, regulators, or other Compliance teams with precision.
Organizational Knowledge
- Develop a deep understanding of Anchorage Digital's business model across custody, staking, stablecoins, and trading, and how data flows through these domains and compliance models.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, etc.) to implement and improve tools and processes within the broader Compliance department.
- Understand the Compliance and FCC team's role within the organization, aligning work with team and company priorities.
Communication and Influence
- Manage competing priorities across strategic projects and urgent ad-hoc requests, asking clarifying questions for ambiguous requests and constructively challenging unclear requirements.
- Present findings and data insights effectively with appropriate context, visual aids, and a tailored communication style.
Qualifications
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- Experience: 2–3 years in a data analytics or data science role, coupled with a strong understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and the financial services industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities autonomously. Proficient in data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Looker, advanced Excel/Google Sheets). Advanced SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, complex joins, and query optimization, are essential.
- Automation & AI Aptitude: Experience with or strong interest in automation principles, leveraging existing AI tools, and exploring new AI tools (like AI Agents) to enhance productivity.
- Technologist Mindset: A strong understanding of how systems, data flows, and technologies interact is essential, along with an eagerness to learn and apply new technologies.
Bonus points if:
- Prior experience in financial services, crypto, a startup, or a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- General understanding of regulatory compliance, financial crimes, and risk management.
- Experience with data transformation tools (dbt or similar), familiarity with version control (Git), and software engineering best practices for analytics.
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for data analysis, automation, or data pipeline work.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, quality-focused results under tight deadlines.
