Role Overview: Engineer, FPGA Design
Analog Devices is actively seeking an Engineer, FPGA Design to join its solutions team. This role is pivotal in supporting a broad range of industry-leading, high-performance linear solutions and standard products for end applications in industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare, and communication systems.
As an Engineer, FPGA Design, you will be responsible for developing embedded digital designs that interface with ADI's products, specifically targeting various FPGA devices. This is a cross-functional role where you will perform definition, development, implementation, and documentation of designs. You will also collaborate with hardware and software teams for system testing, bring-up, and debugging, and provide essential technical support to Analog Devices' global customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement sophisticated FPGA designs tailored for Analog Devices' cutting-edge converter technology.
- Develop robust HDL designs utilizing commonly available FPGA evaluation platforms and demonstration systems.
- Support hardware and software teams in crucial system-level definition, comprehensive testing, and effective debugging/troubleshooting.
- Create detailed design documentation, insightful application notes, practical How-To guides, and compelling technical articles.
- Provide exceptional customer support via the ADI Engineer Zone forum and assist in delivering technical training to field personnel and customers.
Qualifications
- A BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated digital design proficiency using VHDL/Verilog with pertinent professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with hardware, HDL, and software debugging and troubleshooting.
- Solid knowledge of embedded systems and processors such as ARM, Microblaze, and NIOS.
- Familiarity with software environments including Linux and bare-metal programming is essential.
- Experience with Xilinx, Altera, and Lattice devices and their associated development tools.
- Understanding of analog, linear, and mixed-signal circuit fundamentals and devices.
- Exposure to electronics measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Perl/Tcl and shell scripting.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team to develop innovative solutions.
