Summary
Anaconda is seeking a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to help define and communicate the value of our Python and AI platform to data scientists, developers, and enterprise customers. In this role, you will translate complex technical capabilities (such as environment management, packaging, security, and AI workflows) into clear, compelling messaging that drives adoption and growth.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Community teams to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and enablement materials that resonate with both open-source users and commercial buyers. This role requires strong technical fluency, a deep understanding of developer workflows, and the ability to connect practitioner needs with business outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings experience in product marketing or technical roles, a passion for open source and AI, and a desire to shape how the world’s leading Python platform supports modern data science and machine learning teams.
What You’ll Do
Core Product Marketing Responsibilities:
- Craft compelling narratives that position Anaconda as the foundation for AI-native applications and production-grade systems: Articulate the value of Anaconda’s platform in accelerating the journey from prototype to production across key personas, including data scientists, AI builders, security teams, and platform engineers.
- Own persona-driven value propositions for AI development expansion: Develop differentiated messaging frameworks that position Anaconda as the foundational platform that removes setup friction for data scientists, enabling them to focus on insights rather than infrastructure. Create tailored value propositions for regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, manufacturing) that emphasize security scanning, compliance management, and trusted package provenance—turning open source governance from a barrier into a competitive advantage for enterprise AI initiatives.
- Lead comprehensive go-to-market strategies: Drive launch planning, market positioning, and post-launch growth initiatives in close partnership with Product Management and Engineering.
Serve As The Expert On AI Development Practices
- Bring deep credibility with data scientists and developers: Leverage expertise in Python and AI/ML development to ensure technical accuracy across messaging and content. Speak authentically to practitioner audiences spanning traditional ML, LLM/agent workflows, and emerging AI development patterns.
- Establish continuous feedback loops: Capture insights from beta programs, user interviews, and community engagement to inform product direction and refine messaging based on real-world usage across the AI/ML lifecycle.
- Translate technical capabilities into business value: Partner with engineering and technical teams to communicate feature launches with the appropriate depth and clarity, addressing needs across experimentation, model deployment, MLOps, and AI governance.
- Develop deep domain expertise in end-to-end AI workflows: Build authority across traditional data science pipelines, LLM/agent development patterns, model deployment challenges, MLOps toolchains, competitive open source alternatives, and evolving industry practices.
Open Source Community Leadership
- Champion authentic OSS engagement: Promote open source best practices across marketing initiatives and build trusted relationships with maintainers, contributors, and the broader community.
- Create educational, community-first content: Develop technical documentation, case studies, community spotlights, and thought leadership that delivers value to practitioners while demonstrating commercial impact. Contribute to Anaconda quickstart environments by defining requirements and supporting their development.
- Shape ecosystem storytelling: Collaborate with DevRel and Community teams to craft narratives that resonate with both OSS-first audiences and enterprise buyers.
- Represent Anaconda externally: Serve as a thought leader at Python conferences, open source events, and developer forums.
Market Intelligence & Sales Enablement
- Inform strategy through market insights: Synthesize customer research, competitive analysis, and market data to refine messaging and guide product strategy.
- Enable revenue teams: Develop sales materials that clearly articulate both open source adoption pathways and commercial upgrade opportunities.
- Advocate for customer needs internally: Champion personas and use cases across the organization to ensure product and marketing decisions reflect real developer requirements.
- Drive integrated campaigns: Execute cross-channel programs that build awareness and adoption across community and enterprise segments.
