R&D Project Associate at Amyl Therapeutics
Amyl Therapeutics, a growing biotech company, is seeking a dedicated R&D Project Associate to join its Research and Development team based in Legia Park, Liège. This full-time, permanent position involves supporting drug development programs focused on amyloid-mediated neurodegenerative disorders.
Your Mission
- Conduct follow-up of drug development programs in the R&D team.
- Provide scientific input based on cutting-edge literature.
- Supervise research activities with third parties and internal scientists.
- Contribute to project planning and execution from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to build comprehensive project overviews, including planning, risk assessment, strategy, and budget.
- Act as a subject matter expert for activities such as drug candidate expression, optimization studies, and method development.
- Lead scientific discussions and meetings for collaborative and outsourced activities.
- Manage new collaborations, including CDAs, contracts, and study plans.
- Design and optimize preclinical experiments (in vitro and in vivo) for drug candidate testing.
- Ensure timely data collection, review, interpretation, and statistical analysis of complex datasets.
- Uphold high ethical standards, good scientific practices, and data integrity.
- Present study results, program progress, and provide scientific/technical advice internally.
- Author detailed scientific reports with multi-analysis interpretations.
- Represent Amyl Therapeutics at scientific conferences, exploring new technology perspectives.
- Occasionally perform lab analyses to support the Lab team.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Sciences (Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Biotechnology) or equivalent professional experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in biotech/industry, particularly working with external CROs.
- Demonstrated knowledge in designing early-stage or preclinical studies, both in vitro and in vivo, utilizing techniques such as:
- Protein characterization: SPR, BLI, HTRF, spectrofluorimetry, SDS-PAGE, WB, DLS, LC-MS, SEC-HPLC.
- Immunoassays: cell-based assays (phagocytosis, ADCC), ELISA, protein arrays.
- Pharmacokinetics: in vivo and ex vivo designs in rodents/transgenic animals.
- Analysis and production of recombinant proteins (E. coli/CHO) or monoclonal antibodies.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) and proficient in French.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and bioinformatic tools.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, eLab, Origin, Odoo, Monday.com).
- Experience in project management.
- Asset: Experience with Surface Plasmon Resonance or In vivo models of neurodegenerative disorders.
