Position Overview
Amethod Public Schools (AMPS) is a mission and values driven organization providing a rigorous college preparatory education and character development program for underserved communities. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate High School Financial Literacy Teacher who will manage classroom behavior, deliver engaging lessons, and collaborate with colleagues to drive student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Classroom Management:
- Effectively manage student behavior and create a positive learning environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Establish clear classroom procedures and routines.
- Resolve student conflicts and promote positive resolutions.
Instructional Delivery:
- Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards.
- Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Utilize various instructional strategies to promote critical thinking.
- Grade assignments based on rubrics and school policies.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Assess student progress with formative and summative evaluations.
- Provide individualized support and constructive feedback.
- Offer small group support and address academic needs.
Communication:
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff.
- Conduct regular parent-teacher conferences and use ParentSquare.
- Collaborate effectively with school administrators and colleagues.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with administrative and teaching staff.
- Participate in team meetings and school-wide initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
Administrative Tasks:
- Complete attendance, homework distribution, and classroom organization tasks.
- Enforce school rules, dress code, and emergency procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to AMPS's mission and values, strong classroom management skills, clear communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Experience working with children and in charter schools is preferred.
Qualifications and Compensation
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
- California teaching credential or willingness to obtain one.
- 1+ years of experience working in school settings preferred.
- Salary range: $60,000 - $81,500, commensurate with experience.
- This is a full-time, 100% in-person position.
