Role Overview

The Pharmacy Services Technician coordinates daily pharmacy benefits responsibilities for the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies under the guidance of the Supervisor of Pharmacy Management. This role involves supporting pharmacy plan maintenance, claims inquiries, reporting, and communication with members and providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical associates with pharmacy claims questions.
  • Manage standard and ad-hoc reports for cost control.
  • Research and resolve pharmacy benefit inquiries.
  • Oversee authorization, appeals, and communication processes.
  • Support Fraud and Abuse oversight and internal audits.
  • Maintain and update databases and generate required reports.
  • Foster teamwork and professional communication internally and externally.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Active/current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (NHA or PTCB) is a must, with preference given to candidates with experience in pharmacy benefit management, managed care, or retail pharmacy. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication, customer service, multi-tasking skills, and proficient use of Windows-based applications like Excel.
