Purpose

This Financial Analyst position provides finance business partner support for the Technical Operations management team. The role supports the Supply Chain Services Controller by preparing financial, accounting, operational, and internal control information to meet or exceed established value stream goals in transportation, warehousing, and materials.

Essential Functions

  • Provide timely, accurate information for decision-making and performance tracking of customer, interplant, and international freight costs, warehousing, and materials operations.
  • Complete month-end closing requirements (accruals, forecasts, reporting) for accurate financial reports.
  • Manage the accrual and reporting of import tariffs.
  • Execute monthly operations reporting and analyze actual versus plan and forecast comparisons.
  • Work with business partners to prepare assigned freight budgets.
  • Compile data, provide analytical support, and complete cost studies.
  • Support development of departmental metrics and maintain scorecards.
  • Create and update checklists, SOPs, and instructions.
  • Conduct audits to identify control issues and monitor compliance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not typically have supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance to 1-2 salaried employees.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field. One to two years of financial experience is required; logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Skills: Strong oral and written communication, understanding of basic cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger work, excellent computer skills including Microsoft products (Intermediate Excel preferred) and familiarity with MS Access, EDW, Power BI, JDE, or Oracle. Problem-solving, teamwork, planning, organizational, and time management skills are also essential.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment with low noise level. Occasional travel may be expected.
