Overview
As a Senior AI Governance Specialist with American Family Insurance, you will establish AI Governance practices to guide the responsible development and use of AI. You will partner with stakeholders to design and implement systems ensuring transparency, accountability, security, fairness, and human-centricity throughout the entire AI lifecycle, while mitigating risks.
Reporting & Location
This role reports to the Director, Data & AI Governance. If you are within 50 miles of our core locations (35 miles in Boston), you are expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from an office in Madison, WI; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Eden Prairie, MN; Keene, NH; St. Joseph, MO; or Phoenix, AZ.
Primary Accountabilities
- Implement and mature the AI Governance program.
- Ensure adherence to AI Policy & Standards through technical and process controls.
- Update guidelines to reflect changes in laws and regulations.
- Respond to external information requests regarding AI models.
- Evaluate and vet third-party AI providers.
- Socialize AI Governance best practices across teams.
- Maintain training programs on responsible AI practices.
- Participate in peer reviews of AI models and systems.
- Collaborate with Corporate Strategy to align AI Governance with sustainable business practices.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, proficiency with AI development techniques, and ability to lead complex problem resolutions. Expertise in AI governance, regulatory landscape, and clear communication with diverse teams is essential. A solid understanding of insurance concepts is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing, implementing, and managing AI governance platforms.
- Working with cross-functional stakeholders balancing cybersecurity, data privacy, and innovation.
- Experience in testing and managing generative AI systems and AI agents.
Additional Information
Compensation range is $86,000.00 - $142,000.00 annually. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates. Travel is up to 10%. This position is full-time with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), pension plan, annual incentive, paid holidays, and paid time off.
