About American Express Financial Analyst Role
At American Express, our 175-year history of innovation and customer commitment drives our culture. As a Financial Analyst, you will support the controllership functions, business management, and regulatory requirements for newly acquired Center entities.
Function Description
This position involves performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including reconciliations, reviewing US GAAP financial statements, and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform close processes and reconciliations for Center entities.
- Prepare and review US GAAP financial statements, trend and variance analyses.
- Monitor quality and change control over financial processes.
- Support enterprise initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Drive results in specialized projects and intercompany transaction reviews.
Past Experience & Academic Background
Requires 2-3 years in Finance, Accounting & Reporting, strong technical accounting experience, US GAAP knowledge, and a CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong analytical and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Experience with Oracle and Essbase systems.
- Ability to understand technical compliance and business strategy.
