BU & LOB Description
The Global Treasury Controllership (GTC) team is part of the Global Controllership Organization. GTC is responsible for financial reporting of the Company’s cash, debt and equity issuances, securities and financing transactions, investments, derivatives, and related risk management and hedging activities.
Purpose of The Role
This role within the Global Treasury Advisory and Valuation team focuses on preparing reports and analyses regarding derivatives and hedging transactions for Senior Management and External/Regulatory Reporting, ensuring proper accounting and reporting across the Company’s derivative portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Support AXP and its subsidiaries on accounting and reporting for derivatives and hedging.
- Perform market impact analyses for the balance sheet and derivative portfolios.
- Build and maintain relationships with Treasury, External Reporting, and other business units.
- Participate in projects driving automation and process enhancements.
- Document procedures and maintain compliance with derivative and valuation controls.
- Conduct daily mark-to-market analytics and validate reports.
- Lead periodic control testing for SOX and internal audits.
- Support SEC and Regulatory Reporting efforts, including Fair Value footnotes.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in Audit, Accounting, Valuations or Reporting, Big 4 preferred.
- Understanding of US GAAP with additional ASC 815, 820, or 830 knowledge a plus.
- Attention to detail and commitment to a strong control environment.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI/Python is a plus.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (mandatory).
