Responsible for leading the activities of the international hub operation. Responsible for real-time operational planning and communicating operational direction to all functional groups and vendors within the hub. Will interface daily with all hub departments, IOC and airport authorities to optimize station performance. This job is a member of the Airports team within the Customer Experience group.
What You'll Do
- Be responsible for leading the end-to-end activities of the assigned International Hub operation.
- Serve as a liaison between American and the TSA, CBP, Airport and vendors to optimize International Hub operations and service delivery performance.
- Create and maintain good rapport with Airport, TSA, CBP and vendors to ensure the efficient facilitation of operational processes, procedures, and service delivery.
- Represent American by participating in airport-related committees and activities.
- Lead efforts across departmental and functional lines to seamlessly deliver on the One Team principles.
- Work closely and collaboratively with leadership of international stations and regions connected to assigned Hub to ensure a seamless customer experience and operational excellence
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the customer experience and flow within FIS.
- Continuously review and collaboratively enhance/improve processes to optimize international customer and baggage connectivity. Ensure that overall international operations at assigned location meet American’s standards, policies and procedures, satisfy safety and security standards and conform with regulatory requirements.
- Be visible to ensure that team members and vendors consistently provide the highest level of service to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure team members assigned to handle international operations are fully equipped with appropriate skills, knowledge and attributes to deliver service and operational excellence in a professional manner.
- Lead and cultivate a work environment that promotes and celebrates diversity. Foster excellent teamwork across department and sense of commitment to deliver on the highest standards of service and operational excellence.
- Effectively manage vendors to ensure that they deliver services as stipulated in their contract and supporting service level agreement.
- Seek opportunities to improve operations, business processes, information technology, resource management and administration.
- Prepare reports on international operations performance, improvement initiatives and opportunities to key stakeholders.
- Initiate or authorize employee hire, promotion, discharge, or transfer.
- When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends.
- Fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport
- Must pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint check.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience/training
- 7+ years of relevant experience
