This Analyst, Procurement role is a member of the Procurement team within our Finance division. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic programs that align with internal stakeholder needs, focusing on cost-effective solutions, timely acquisition, and comprehensive supply management.
What You'll Do as an Analyst, Procurement
- Drive results through action-oriented initiatives and strong relationship-building skills.
- Innovate and creatively solve problems, taking full ownership of your projects.
- Represent American Airlines in negotiations and business dealings, both internally and externally.
- Act as a catalyst for change, streamlining processes for greater efficiency.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of commodities and categories.
- Assist with the development and implementation of category strategies as a strategic thinker.
- Assist with RFP processes and contract negotiations.
- Enhance company value while fostering positive supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and integrate them into procurement processes.
- Communicate effectively, demonstrating emotional intelligence in all interactions.
Qualifications for an Analyst, Procurement
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related field.
- Proficiency in Source to Pay (S2P) systems.
- Experience in vendor relationship management.
- Skills in process mapping and supplier risk analysis.
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Knowledge of supply chain concepts, with work or internship experience applying those concepts.
- Negotiating and influencing skills.
- Ability to be self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow through and initiative.
- Business understanding, particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management, and financial analysis.
- Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting, and quality improvement.
- High ethical standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles.
