Global Supply Chain Intern

The Global Supply Chain Intern will perform various duties under the supervision of a senior level procurement professional. The intern will partner with GSCM leaders to support vital projects to the company while developing their own understanding of the federal & commercial contracting business, global supply chains, and general business acumen. Interns will be based in either our Northern Virginia offices, Ft. Worth, Texas office or Las Vegas, Nevada locations. The intern will be expected to be a self-starter with a positive and curious attitude. In their time with Amentum, the intern will gain exposure to Amentum’s procurement, logistics, finance, analytics, and compliance functions within the company’s supply chain. This position is remote telework and requires US Citizenship.

  • Learn and apply the basic principles of purchasing to include market research, requirements validation, solicitation, evaluation, contract award, and contract administration in a government contracting environment
  • Learn and apply fundamental negotiation strategies
  • Research commodity trends across various industries
  • Assist with developing use cases for AI in the Procure to Pay (P2P) process
  • Perform vendor qualification activities
  • Assist with measuring and reporting supplier performance
  • Introduced to supplier risk management and Environmental, Social Governance (ESG) objectives
  • Assist with contract file management and audit activities
  • Complete one stretch assignment related to a critical Amentum project or process as defined by your assigned procurement professional
  • Contribute to supply chain data and analytics projects supporting the Amentum Enterprise

Qualifications

  • Open to Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an accredited college or university majoring in Supply Chain Management, Business, Data Analysis & Sciences, Pre-Law or other related disciplines
  • Preferred GPA: 3.0 or above
  • Preferred ability to work in Chantilly, VA or Fort Worth, TX office
  • Preferred ability to travel (US) as necessary to support Intern initiatives
  • US Citizenship is required to apply
  • Interest in Government & Commercial Contracting industry
  • Must be willing to learn new tools and technologies

Compensation Details

$23 hourly
