Senior Technical Writer - AI ML at AMD

The Role
As a Senior Technical Writer - AI ML, you will become a critical member of AMD's AI GPU SW core documentation team. You will be instrumental in documenting AI software that enables high performance computing and machine learning at Exascale, working directly with the latest AMD ML/AI software ecosystem. This is a hybrid position based at AMD's Markham office.
The Person
The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in writing, editing, reviewing, and organizing technical content, specifically related to software. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, edit, review, and organize technical content for AMD's AI-related software.
- Structure documentation and hierarchically organize content to enhance the user experience.
Preferred Experience
- Advanced knowledge of Git and various content management solutions.
- Proficiency in using GitHub, working across 50+ repositories.
- Experience crafting documentation for projects utilizing C, C++, and Python programming languages.
- Familiarity with text-based markup formats like Markdown, reStructuredText, and LaTeX.
- Proven ability to create API documentation tailored for a developer audience.
- Experience with a docs-as-code workflow.
- Proficiency in software API documentation using Doxygen.
- Familiarity with Doxygen / Sphinx publishing pipelines, particularly via Read The Docs.
- Practical experience using software or hardware systems through direct experimentation (e.g., reading and running code).
- Understanding of the Agile development process.
- Programming experience or exposure to languages such as C, C++, Fortran, and the ability to read code.
- Capacity to quickly learn new and existing technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to provide a portfolio of writing samples for review.
Academic Credentials
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
