The Role of a RTL Design & Performance Architect
As a member of the Infinity Fabric Architecture and RTL team, you will help build the next generation coherent interconnect to provide connectivity between CPU, GPU and special purpose accelerators. Every product that AMD sells has its own custom-designed Infinity Data Fabric, so this role gives an engineer the opportunity to work on a broad array of products that address a variety of markets, including traditional servers, high performance computing, client desktop and laptop PCs, machine intelligence, graphics, console gaming, embedded, and customer-specific applications. It is a challenging position that involves working at a fast pace of innovation on the cutting edge of technology. Come join the AMD team!
About You
You will possess very strong problem-solving skills and bring broad experience in server, HPC and AI systems. A strong background in CPU, interconnects and caches are required and bring a strong, self-motivated work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Early architectural/performance exploration as well as micro-architectural definition and RTL design
- Power, performance, area and timing optimizations.
- Proven track record of tape-out experience with leading technology nodes like 7nm, 5nm and 3nm.
- Excellent communication skills and strong collaboration across multiple business units
- Create well written architecture specification
- Participate in post silicon functional and performance debug and tuning.
- Provide technical support to other teams such as verification and physical design teams.
- Mentor junior engineers
Preferred Experience
- Deep experience in CPU, Memory and SOC architectures
- Experience working seamlessly across engineering disciplines and geographies to deliver excellent results
Academic Credentials
- Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
