Job Description

Manager, Product Development Engineering

The Role

Lead and manage a team of test engineers responsible for product development activities on AMD products. Ensure the delivery of test coverage, test flow, characterization, and implementation from wafer sort through pack out to meet business requirements. Develop and maintain test plans and documentation, including HW specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing pre-silicon test requirements and driving Design Verification deliveries.
  • Executing the defined characterization and test plans on new silicon.
  • Deliver test programs and debug support during NPI through production ramp.
  • Driving yield and quality improvements across wafer sort, final test, and system level test.
  • Responsible for ensuring the defined product meets customer (quality) & company (yield, test time, schedule) requirements.
  • Provide direct supervision and coaching to individual contributors.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing a team.
  • Experience with developing tests, patterns/vectors, timing, and diagnostics on Automated Test Equipment (93K, T2K, etc).
  • Competency in or understanding of Semiconductor process, packaging, test technologies, DFT features such as ATPG Scan, memory BIST, JTAG, and at-speed testing, product characterization and test point optimization.
  • Experience in XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban as Scrum Master or Product Owner.
  • Statistical analysis experience to determine population mean and outliers.
  • Pareto analysis experience to drive a debug process.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.
  • Experience presenting to Director level management internally.
  • Experience on system-level test is an asset.

Education

B.S./M.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field/experience.
