Overview

Join the Amazon team working on Project Kuiper to develop a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites for global broadband connectivity. In this Wireless Integration and Test Engineer role, you will design, develop, and integrate communication payload and customer terminal systems, ensuring high-performance, low-latency operations.

The Role

As part of the team, you will:

• Define and develop the communication system architecture for Project Kuiper.
• Integrate and verify hardware and software sub-systems during system bring-up.
• Develop custom hardware, software, and automation solutions for link verification.
• Design advanced L1/L2 proof-of-concept systems to optimize network performance.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to troubleshoot RF, network, and embedded systems issues.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes evaluating system performance, integrating link-layers, verifying RF configurations, and developing time/frequency acquisition algorithms. It involves using digital signal processing and wireless communications techniques, test automation with Python and Bash scripting, and operating lab equipment like signal generators and spectrum analyzers.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Applicants must have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in wireless communications, with advanced experience in test automation and software defined radios. A PhD with specialization in broadband wireless is preferred along with knowledge in digital signal processing, embedded programming in C/C++, and advanced communication protocols.
