About Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

Role Overview

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer for Kuiper Network Services, you will be part of the core technical team responsible for building ground-based traffic processing pipelines on AWS cloud infrastructure. You will architect software from the ground up, lead engineering initiatives, develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior team members.

A Day in the Life

SDEs at Project Kuiper design networking features, implement them in both prototype and production environments, and ensure their solutions meet high-quality standards. They debug, test, and operate their own service fleets to handle customer issues effectively.

Basic and Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Expertise in at least one programming language with design and architecture experience.
• Proven leadership experience as a mentor or tech lead.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including CI/CD, source control, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay ranges from $151,300/year to $261,500/year, with additional benefits including equity and sign-on bonuses depending on location and experience.
