About the Role

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to diverse customers worldwide. The Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Manufacturing Systems Engineering plays a key role in delivering software solutions that improve the speed, quality, and scalability of manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with factory planners, technicians, and engineering teams.
  • Lead technical projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Design flexible, high-performance and reliable solutions for complex problems.
  • Utilize AWS services including Lambda, IAM, SNS/SQS, DocumentDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IoT.
  • Mentor fellow engineers and build a strong engineering culture.

About The Team

The Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE) team is responsible for creating standardized, automated, and scalable manufacturing systems. They focus on transforming engineering inputs into production-ready solutions in areas such as automated testing, calibration, shop floor management, and test station design.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Basic: 3+ years of professional software development, 2+ years in design or architecture, and expertise in at least one programming language.

Preferred: Full lifecycle experience, a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, and experience with Rust and software & hardware interfaces.

Export Control Requirement

Candidates must meet U.S. export control regulations.

Compensation & Application Process
