Job Overview

The Software Dev Engineer in Test - Kuiper is responsible for setting the performance bar for satellite control software. You will work with hardware and software engineers to develop a hardware test-bed that validates all software before deployment to space. Automation is key as the role focuses on scaling manual processes to automated software-driven processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to meet or exceed operational functional requirements.
  • Create and implement automated processes to reduce manual efforts.
  • Design, test and implement internal custom systems and processes.
  • Provide on-shift support for critical issues.
  • Collaborate with System Development Engineering teams for smooth roll-out.
  • Create and review documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer material.

About the Team

The Builder Operations Team is seeking a candidate with experience in building automation frameworks and infrastructure for satellite systems using proprietary hardware. Your technical expertise will help create test frameworks and optimize functional testing, spacecraft validation, and satellite qualification processes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software development testing experience.
  • 2+ years of test automation framework and tool building experience.
  • Proficient in at least one modern language like Java, C++, or C#.
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
  • Experience working within or with spacecraft industry is a plus.

Export Control Requirement

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay ranges from $151,300/year to $261,500/year depending on market. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits.
