About the Role: Retail Food Safety Analyst

As a Retail Food Safety Analyst at Amazon, you will champion and uphold robust retail food safety programs and policies. Your role involves educating, coaching, and consulting store and operational leadership to ensure compliance and cultivate a strong Food Safety Culture across Amazon's grocery stores. You will act as a crucial link between store operations and regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to all relevant food codes and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct in-store food safety support and guidance.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of food-handling practices, pest control, chemical management, and audit programs.
• Foster collaborative relationships with store leaders and operational area leaders.
• Serve as a primary liaison between Amazon stores and regulatory agencies.
• Offer crucial assistance during new store launches, ensuring food safety standards from day one.
• Participate in an after-hours and weekend on-call rotation to address urgent food safety matters.
• Be prepared for significant overnight travel, up to 75%, to various store locations.
• Actively engage with professional organizations and industry groups to stay current with best practices.
• Maintain professional credentials relevant to food safety.

Basic Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of retail food codes and regulations at local, state, and federal levels for grocery retail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a closely related field.
• Relevant professional experience in retail operations or retail food safety management.
• Ability to maintain or obtain NEHA Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) or Registered Environmental Health Specialist / Registered Sanitarian (REHS/RS) certification.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 to 6 years of experience in food safety compliance within food retailing or food processing environments.
• Demonstrated success in teaching or training individuals on food safety protocols.
