Operations Manager Night Shift at Amazon
The operational business area is the heart of Amazon. This essential part of our company ensures that we efficiently fulfill and ship orders so that our customers receive their items on time. It is driven by Operations Managers Night Shift who bring the team together to promote excellent safety, quality, and productivity at all our locations. You will coordinate other managers at your site and create the operational plan that helps your teams achieve their goals. This role is fully focused on supporting operational excellence to create the Amazon of tomorrow.
Key job responsibilities
- Leading and developing a team of Area Managers.
- Managing shifts of operational teams, handling issues, and promoting site performance.
- Analyzing shifts according to company specifications and implementing measures to improve operational excellence.
- Close collaboration with other support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety.
- Designing and implementing initiatives across all locations to improve operational performance.
A day in the life
You will take over shift management at one of our operational sites. You will also act as the main interface between several different teams, including Finance, Security, and Operations Integration teams. This means you will directly observe daily operations at your site while also contributing to new innovation opportunities.
A typical workday includes meetings with various business areas, in-depth investigations of performance and risk metrics for sites, and forecasts to prepare for different demand volumes. Furthermore, you will provide daily mentoring and coaching to your team. As a leader, you support your team members in fully developing their management potential.
About The Team
Our Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) team is essential to fulfilling Amazon's fast delivery promise. At ATS, you will be part of a diverse team that plays a central role in the success of our supply chain. In collaboration with air and sea freight companies, road hauliers, and our sortation centers, you ensure that Amazon delivers to its customers as efficiently as possible.

Basic Qualifications
- University degree.
- Leadership experience and experience in stakeholder management.
- Advanced English and German language skills, both written and spoken.
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to justify business decisions.
- Relevant experience in production and supply chain areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methods.
- Experience in a similar logistics environment.
- Experience working with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
