Technician RME at Amazon

Ensure the continuous operation of essential machinery through proactive and preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, and troubleshooting. You will utilize the best tools to optimize equipment performance, adhere to health and safety best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement projects across EU sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform proactive and preventive maintenance on site equipment.
  • Conduct reactive repair tasks and diagnose failures in a functional distribution center.
  • Utilize optimal tools to enhance equipment operation.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and practices.
  • Support the development and progression of apprentices on site.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects and apply best practices across multiple EU sites.

A Day in the Life:

As an on-site RME Technician, you will respond quickly to technical issues affecting operations. This includes performing scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure equipment functionality and safety, and rapidly intervening in case of breakdowns with thorough investigation and swift resolution. You will also contribute suggestions for sustainable process improvements. Collaboration with experienced colleagues is key for daily tasks like painting and plumbing, and liaising with external contractors when necessary. Your team's work ensures 24/7 site support, enabling Amazon's renowned delivery speed.

About The Team:

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team ensures optimal equipment performance. Guided by experienced managers, this analytical team combines deep technical knowledge with strong teamwork. They are responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of resources within Amazon's global fulfillment network. Opportunities for advancement are abundant within both the RME team and Amazon.

Their primary goal is to minimize downtime in Amazon's key logistics sites, ensuring timely customer order delivery. Work may occur during early or late hours, including night shifts, to minimize disruption. The team has the capability to develop and introduce new processes or cutting-edge technologies, such as Amazon Robotics, if a superior methodology is identified.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technological or professional baccalaureate (or international equivalent) in an engineering discipline or other engineering certification validated by an internship.
  • Previous experience as a qualified engineer.
  • Previous experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Perfect command of the local language, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of condition-based machine monitoring.
  • Knowledge of printing and application machinery.
  • Experience in diagnosing failures and maintaining conveyor or automation systems.
