About the Learning Trainer Role at Amazon

The RAD1 Learning Trainer works with Operations Managers, Area Managers, IT Managers, Production Assistants, and Associates to coordinate all training related activities for the site. This individual will provide facilitation, administrative management, and is expected to constantly improve the long-term capabilities of the area to which they are assigned.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Measures production quality/quantity and applies learning tools to improve both.
  • Evaluates and improves processes within work areas; refines learning tools and techniques across the building.
  • Assists in measuring the effectiveness of learning and the impact of development efforts.
  • Improves associates' job-related skills and develops, maintains, and applies learning tools (methods, checklists, skill building agreements).
  • Identifies areas for associate cross-training and support, then implements the necessary training.
  • Supports the updating of SOPs and SOP certification for associates and managers.
  • Assists in driving the success of peak and non-peak training plans.

A Day in the Life of a Learning Trainer

A typical day for a Learning Trainer begins on the floor, working directly with associates in various process paths to observe performance and identify skill gaps. They deliver hands-on training for PIT operations, TDR, and process path procedures, while also supporting Learning Ambassadors with approved materials. Throughout the shift, they conduct audits, update training records using electronic tools, and ensure Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) compliance. Learning Trainers provide and receive real-time feedback, check for understanding, and remove barriers to associate success. The day concludes with reporting insights to area managers and contributing to continuous improvement through PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and Kaizen activities.

About The Team

Rapid Asset Deployment (RAD) - RAD1 - is a part of Global RAD Operations (GRO), committed to delivering IT equipment accurately and on time through standardized operations. This includes everything from receiving and warehousing to assembly, provisioning, and shipping. Guided by tenets of safety, speed, quality, and inclusion, the North America team supports Amazon businesses by ensuring the right equipment is in the right place at the right time. GRO's Learning & Development function is crucial, driving onboarding, process training, and safety programs across all sites, thereby empowering associates and managers to advance their careers within supply chain, operations, and IT.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering training/information to peers, hourly associates, and senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience working with changing priorities and schedules.
  • Experience working with customers, demonstrating a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines.
  • Current Tier 3 Amazon associate experience.
  • Willingness to participate in and support Operational Excellence initiatives.
