Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer

About the Role

The Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer at Amazon supports the development and improvement of the Kuiper Flight Dynamics System for Project Kuiper, Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. This role involves automating flight dynamics tasks, managing conjunction traffic risks in Low Earth Orbit, and collaborating with Guidance, Navigation and Control engineers.

Responsibilities

• Support software development for flight dynamics operations.
• Transition from human-centric to automated operations workflows.
• Develop novel solutions for conjunction risk management.
• Collaborate with GNC engineers for on-orbit performance improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
• Experience with engineering tools and operations software systems.
• Understanding of orbit analysis, trajectory calculation, and orbit determination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in satellite operations and ground systems development.
• Experience in satellite navigation, conjunction risk assessment, and maneuver planning.
• Experience with cloud-based software systems development.
