About the Role

The Director, Packaging Design at Amazon is responsible for leading the packaging creative direction across the Devices portfolio. The role champions design excellence while creating engaging unboxing experiences for global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an agile design team for packaging initiatives.
  • Develop global and regional packaging designs from creative briefs.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, UX, Brand, and Research teams.
  • Provide mentorship and creative direction to designers.
  • Oversee production execution ensuring quality control and adherence to specifications.
  • Articulate design concepts and present work to senior leaders.

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years of creative design experience with a robust portfolio.
  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong leadership with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in retail packaging and unboxing experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating multiple product form factors.
  • Knowledge of paper-based materials for tech products.
  • Comfort with experimental methodologies and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of retail and e-commerce dynamics.
