About the Role: Associate, ML Data Operations

This team plays a crucial role in enabling automation within Amazon Robotics Fulfillment centers by serving Amazon Internal Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics teams. They provide real-time and offline (image/video) data auditing services, contributing significantly to maintaining inventory accuracy.

As an Associate, ML Data Operations, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing video footage of stowing actions in fulfillment centers. Your role involves understanding the captured activity and applying human judgment in conjunction with available tools and resources to accurately indicate product locations. This process is vital for upholding the fulfillment center's stow quality and aiding in defect reduction through precise video/image audits.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Watch several hundred videos per shift, providing responses in line with accuracy (quality), speed (productivity), and accepted practices.
  • Adhere to pre-defined break slots, ensuring 6.8 to 7 hours of daily video auditing time.
  • Maintain a dedicated workspace (table, chair, sufficient lighting) if working from home, ensuring work-related data is not accessed by others.

A Day in the Life

Associates operate in a 24x7 environment with rotational shifts, typically working 9-hour shifts including breaks. Shift timings are subject to change every 3-4 months based on business requirements. Night shift allowances are provided as per Amazon's policy. Weekly offs are rotational, comprising two consecutive days off (not necessarily Saturday and Sunday).

About the Team

The Data Auditing Operations team provides essential human support to Amazon Fulfillment facilities. Their primary goal is to enable hands-free active stowing through visual audits of videos and images. Associates review brief videos (15-20 seconds) to audit product information, applying human judgment to enhance the effectiveness of automated processes and improve stow quality. Performance is continuously evaluated for improvements and coaching.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Candidate Expectations

  • Willingness to undertake a non-tech role for a 6-month contract.
  • Aptitude for auditing image/video/text-based jobs.
  • Capacity to discern details from blurry or low-quality videos, providing accurate responses.
  • High level of attention and focus required when viewing screens.
  • Commitment to incremental quality and productivity targets/goals.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and maintain consistent performance.
  • Flexibility to work rotational shifts (including night shifts) and as part of remote teams.
  • Exceptional team player skills.
  • Readiness to come to the office for a few days when required (applicable to remote associates).
  • Willingness to keep laptop camera on during virtual meetings.
