About the Role: Air Operations Coordinator

Amazon is seeking an enthusiastic and customer obsessed Air Operations Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in an emerging business at Amazon.

This position will drive engagement and execution excellence across our air operations, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to improve processes, co-ordinate and drive day-to-day execution, conduct problem solving activities and communicate status updates to management.

The ideal candidate will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to support daily execution activities. Additionally, they will have excellent communication skills and a passion for quickly resolving challenges by using effective problem solving and organizational skills.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure standard practices are implemented and executed;
  • Conduct necessary deep dives to resolve issues;
  • Ensure Amazon freight is lodged as per industry standards;
  • Support booking of air freight and airway bill labelling as required;
  • Oversee handling and screening of Amazon freight as required;
  • Communicate status updates, delays, risks and other issues to management;
  • Monitor air routes to identify potential issues that could impact performance;
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations and conduct regular analysis of processes to prevent recurrence of issues;
  • Develop reporting templates to capture key metrics including arrival time, dispatch, rejections and delays;
  • Participate in daily calls as required;
  • Lead by example fostering a culture of safety, customer obsession and ownership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.);
  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements;
  • Ability to use good judgement in challenging situations;
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (including email management, report writing and ability to prepare and analyze data);
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs;
  • Willingness to travel to and work at various locations across Sydney as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of relevant program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience;
  • Experience with SQL highly desirable;
  • Fulfill government background checks to qualify for an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card);
  • Able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or Customs security badges, if applicable.
