About the Role: Technical Program Manager at AWS
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is actively seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join its distinguished Region Services organization. This critical role focuses on delivering large-scale programs within some of the most mission-critical cloud environments. As a TPM, you will be instrumental in guiding cross-functional and technical teams through the entire program lifecycle, from initial design and detailed requirements to build, testing, assurance, and final deployment.
You will leverage a combination of astute judgment, negotiation prowess, analytical talent, and technical aptitude to collaborate effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include driving program roadmaps and strategies, streamlining processes by eliminating non-value-add activities, designing robust solutions, overcoming blockers, and innovating ways to accelerate project delivery.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and act as a positive influencer across various teams to achieve ambitious program goals. You should be adept at managing business escalations with a data-driven approach, fostering trust with senior business and technical leaders. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager who can define and spearhead Region Services initiatives, backed by a proven track record of planning and executing complex programs with multi-year roadmaps, utilizing a comprehensive suite of program management tools.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage high-profile programs across multiple supporting teams, ensuring successful outcomes for AWS and its customers.
- Proactively identify and address bottlenecks, seek solutions to emerging problems, provide effective escalation management, and make strategic tradeoff decisions that benefit the program.
- Build trust through consistent communication with senior management regarding program status and risks, skillfully synthesizing complex issues and solutions into clear, consumable information.
- Leverage influence rather than direct authority to drive project deliverables across teams.
- Take ownership of project success metrics, defining, measuring, and reporting on these metrics through data collection, analytics, and dashboard creation to track progress and guide business improvements.
- Develop, refine, and disseminate operational best practices across the region and globally among peers.
- Demonstrate unwavering ownership in enhancing the safety, security, and availability of our region operations.
- Mentor, train, and support the career progression of indirect reports and other team members, including Technicians and Technical Program Managers.
- Champion team learning and development, focusing on both technical/functional skills and crucial soft skills such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 3+ years of experience with project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
