Technical Program Manager II at Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) is seeking a skilled Technical Program Manager II to coordinate and manage the end-to-end development of large-scale, distributed software applications, systems, platforms, services, or technologies. This role involves defining projects, gathering business requirements, and writing functional and technical specifications in collaboration with various business and technical teams, including product managers, engineering, and localization teams. You will be responsible for driving software development and program initiatives, managing priorities for project/program completion, and creating detailed schedules. A key aspect of this position is identifying and communicating risks to stakeholders, defining effective risk mitigation strategies, and facilitating appropriate software engineering solutions. Additionally, the Technical Program Manager II will manage cross-functional teams and/or third-party vendors to ensure successful implementation of project and program requirements.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with a work schedule of 8:00am-5:00pm. The salary range for this role in Boston, MA is $127,100 - $172,000 per year. Amazon.com is an Equal Opportunity – Affirmative Action Employer.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- One year of experience in the job offered or as a Project Lead, Product Manager, Software Engineer, or a related occupation.
- Must have one year of experience in managing end-to-end technical projects or programs.
- Experience involved cross-functional collaboration across at least three departments or business units.
- Experience in defining and executing a project plan, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality management.
- Experience included ownership of risk identification, mitigation planning, and critical path tracking using a formal project management framework (e.g., Agile, PMP, PRINCE2).
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position in Boston, MA is $127,100 - $172,000 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
