The team tackles challenging problems with numerous variables impacting the supply chain.

You will join a diverse team of experts, collaborating across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security, while providing infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. AWS fosters an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and empowers employees to see them through to completion.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a rapidly growing business unit within Amazon.com, providing a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost cloud infrastructure platform since early 2006, empowering hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries.

The Opportunity: Technical Infrastructure Program Manager

Are you an individual with a strong business background, extensive cross-functional program management experience, financial acumen, legal/regulatory understanding, and technical knowledge? Can you communicate effectively, find clarity in ambiguity, and simplify complexity? If so, this exciting role within Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) Telengana is for you. This position is crucial for building the infrastructure that hosts AWS cloud services, delivering cloud infrastructure in a challenging, high-growth, fast-paced, and customer-focused environment.

As a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams to deliver usable data center capacity. You will partner with senior stakeholders to develop, document, manage, and deliver infrastructure designs, implementation schedules, and budgets. Your ability to solve complex issues and guide teams towards timely and cost-effective results will build trust with your partners.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with relevant experience in managing technical and strategic programs. Prior experience in data center deployment programs is beneficial. However, a background in program and project management, architecture/design, mechanical/electrical engineering, or software/hardware engineering, coupled with a strong desire to learn, is also highly valued.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery of new data centers (DCs) across one or more availability zones in India.
  • Manage over 10 projects concurrently, bridging internal customers, business functions (Planning, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Policy, Operations), and functional delivery teams (Construction, Commissioning, Controls, Fiber, Network).
  • Ensure on-time and right-sized delivery of new DC capacity.
  • Initiate scope with early expansion planning, including feasibility analysis and approval of expansion plans and build timelines.
  • Evaluate factors like owned/leased/collocated DC supply, utility delivery (power, water, and fiber), and long lead equipment (LLE) availability before approving new plans.
  • Monitor region-wide in-flight projects, major risks, and remediation efforts to meet supply commitments and evolving customer demand.
  • Manage metrics, tools, and mechanisms to identify risks/issues requiring action, decision, mitigation, or alternative solutions.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels to align direction, gain support, and drive remediation efforts.
