Overview
The Systems Engineer, Managed Operations at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will help launch the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) initiative by leading operations and development teams for high-availability AWS services. This role focuses on scaling and enhancing services such as EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock exclusively for EU customers.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the launch of the ESC in 2025.• Collaborate with global AWS teams to drive service improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.• Troubleshoot Linux and networking issues to maintain system performance.• Participate in on-call rotations for incident resolution.• Enhance SOPs and operational procedures.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).• Fluency in written and spoken English; must be an EU national residing within the EU.• Experience with cloud operations and troubleshooting Linux/networking issues.• Familiarity with AWS cloud systems and Infrastructure as Code tools.
