Senior Manager, Startup Solutions Architecture

Role Overview

About the Role

We are looking for technical builders who love working with early stage startups to help them grow. In this role, you’ll manage a team of Solutions Architects that work directly with a variety of customers, guiding them to make the best (and sometimes most pragmatic) technical decisions.

You’ll also have ample opportunity to “sharpen the saw” and keep your skills fresh, navigating over 200 AWS services to help startups leverage the right ones. Your team will advocate for startup needs with our product teams, ensuring AWS builds the right solutions for them.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solution Architects from internal and external sources.
• Build and coach the team on the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions, transferring deep technical skills to customers considering or using AWS.
• Educate startup customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment.
• Guide and motivate the development of white-papers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices to influence early stage startups.
• Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.

This is a regional role; expect moderate travel.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer facing resources or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
• Business Communication in English and Portuguese.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting, migrating, transforming, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.
