About the Internship
Amazon internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work onsite Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day.
Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. By applying to this position, your application will be considered for all ASIC roles at all locations we hire for in the United States including but not limited to: Greater Seattle Area (Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond), Greater Bay Area (San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara), Greater DMV (DC, MD, VA), Austin (TX), New York City (NY), Minneapolis (MN).
You will be able to provide your preference of location and start date during the application process but, we cannot guarantee that we can meet your selection based on several factors including but not limited to the availability and business needs of this role. Role Overview
Do you want to be part of a team that deploys and automates one of the world’s largest and complex networks? As a Network Development Engineer Intern working within AWS Infrastructure you will be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments and multiple AWS services. You will work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume. You’ll have the opportunity to deploy, scale and automate our network across multiple global datacenter, including existing footprints and greenfield locations.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
- Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
- Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
Basic Qualifications
- Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
- Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Experience in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Javascript
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Telecommunications or similar program with a graduation conferral date between October 2026 - December 2029
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies
- Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
