About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an International Certifications Specialist, AWS Compliance & Security Assurance to lead the implementation of a compliance-focused hardware certification program for global data center hardware. This critical program supports AWS's product compliance function, covering hundreds of internal use data center and customer-focused hardware products. The scope includes global certifications for product safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio frequency (RF), energy efficiency, and restricted substances. The specialist will develop and implement defensible certification strategies, partner with suppliers to deploy these strategies, and manage the end-to-end global certification status throughout the product lifecycle. This role interfaces with compliance engineering, hardware development, business teams, supply chain, logistics, equipment suppliers, third-party test labs, and certification agencies.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Compliance Operations, this position is part of the product compliance function within AWS’s Global Trade and Product Compliance (GTPC) team. GTPC ensures that all equipment procured for AWS data centers and equipment sold to customers meet global regulatory requirements.

GTPC is vital for ensuring compliant import/export of infrastructure equipment across AWS's global operations, including all product certification and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of a compliance-focused hardware certifications program.
- Build programs for sustained operational execution and cultivate strong stakeholder relationships.
- Collect, validate, and evidence compliance at both product and country levels across a diverse hardware portfolio.
- Provide real-time compliance status of equipment to key business partners.
- Manage relationships with test labs and certification agencies, including contracting and budget oversight.
- Track certification expiration dates and manage the timely renewal of certifications.
- Design and drive scalable processes within a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent compliance with global product regulatory requirements.
- Partner with key stakeholders to define program strategy, project plans, and manage technology implementations.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience implementing scalable compliance solutions (technology, procedures, processes, etc.) in a regulated environment.
- Experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems.
- Experience managing project delivery.
- Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience in technical support, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
